Exciting News: Canadian Geriatrics Journal Receives its First Journal Impact Factor!

2024-01-12

We are thrilled to announce that the Canadian Geriatrics Journal (CGJ) has received an inaugural Journal Impact Factor™ (JIF) of 3.9 according to Clarivate's 2023 edition of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR)™.

CGJ continues to be indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) within the Web of Science Core Collection. This is the first time, as previously announced by Clarivate, that Journals included in ESCI have been awarded a JIF.

The JIF is defined as citations to the journal in the JCR year to items published in the previous two years, divided by the total number of citable items published in the journal in the previous two years. For example, the 2022 JIF for a journal is calculated by taking the number of citations in 2022 to articles published in 2020 and 2021 and dividing it by the total number of articles published in those two years.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this milestone—authors for their invaluable research, reviewers for their expertise and thorough assessments, editors for their guidance, and our readers for their continued support and engagement.

As we celebrate this achievement, we welcome and encourage submissions to the Journal. The CGJ publishes original research, short reports, reviews, guidelines, perspectives, editorials, commentaries, letters to the editor, and reflective pieces. View our Author Guidelines for more information and learn more about the benefits of publishing with the Journal.
